I am an experienced independent practitioner based in Devon, with a background in the school classroom, providing educational and child psychology services for parents and carers or schools and other educational settings in the South West.
After starting my educational career as a primary school teacher in Bristol and Cambridge, I trained as an educational psychologist in 1989, at UCL. I have worked as an EP ever since, for Suffolk and Hampshire and more recently for Devon – and have also had an independent practice since 2009.
I have extensive experience working with children, young people, university students, adults, parents/carers and schools – having worked in settings from preschool to university and in mainstream and specialist schools and colleges. When living in Hampshire, I also regularly carried out assessment work for the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre .
I have a particular interests in autism, specific learning difficulties, behaviour management and mental health, and I am a former board member of the SASC (SPLD Assessment Standards Committee).
